JHENIDAH: At least 10 people, including police, were injured in a fierce clash between supporters of ruling Awami League and opposition BNP in Harinakunda area of the district Saturday.
Police held upazila BNP president Abul Hossain and activist Mosharraf in this connection.
Officer-in-Charge of Harinakunda Thana Abul Khayer told banglanews that tension mounted in the area as a procession of upazila Awami League was passing in front of BNP office while a rally of Swechhasebak Dal going on.
At one stage, the activists of both parties locked into a clash and threw brick-bats, leaving 10 people including police injured, he added.
A case was filed in this connection.
