CHAPAINAWABGANJ: Monakasha Company Sadar Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel held a person with 17 lakhs fake Indian rupees from Shibganj upazila of the district on Friday.
The detained was identified as Jewel, son of Shamsuddin, resident of Roshia village under the upazila.
BGB sources told that acting on a tip off, they raided the residence of Jewel and seized 16 lakhs 93 thousand fake Indian rupees.
Chapainawabganj BGB-9 Battalion Commander Lt Colonel Manjurul Alam PSC told banglanews that they seized the fake rupees and held the bootleg.
