Khaleda returns home

DHAKA: BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia returned home Saturday noon wrapping up a weeklong visit to China.

A Thai Airways flight carrying the opposition leader and her entourage landed at Shahjalal International Airport around 12:00pm.

Earlier on Friday, she left China for home in the same flight and stayed in Bangkok at night.

Party top leaders including Standing Committee members barrister Maudud Ahmed, Barrister Rafiqul Islam Mia, Mirza Abbas, chairperson’s adviser AZM Jahid Hossain, among others, received her at the airport.

Standing Committee member Dr. Khandker Mosharraf Hossain, Lt Gen (rtd) Mahbubur Rahman, vice-chairman    Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury BB, Begum Selima Rahman, Advisory Council member Sabihuddin Ahmed, among others, who accompanied the BNP chief during her visit also returned home.

Earlier October 14, she left Dhaka for China on a seven-day visit as part of diplomatic strategy for her party.
