JESSORE: Police arrested nine activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir, student wing of the Jamaat-e-Islami, from the different students’ hostel of the town on Wednesday morning.
Officer-in-Charge Kotwali Model Thana Golam Rahman told banglanews that the Chhatra Shibir activists were arrested for their alleged involvement in creating anarchic situation in the town.
They detainees are Golam Mostafa, Nazmul Huda, Shariful, Alamgir, Babul, Abu Bakar, Sohel Rana, Sohannur Rahman and Zakir Hossain.
Later, they were produced before the court.
Moreover, police held two people from railroad area of the town in the early hours of Wednesday while they were taking preparation for hijacking.
They are Masud Sheikh, son of Mofiz Uddin and Rashed, son of Alim Uddin, of the area.
