DHAKA: Morocco’s Foreign Ministry said on Monday it had asked the Syrian ambassador to leave the country immediately and declared him persona non grata.
There was no immediate comment from the Syrian embassy.
Earlier in the day, a Syrian embassy official denied speculation that the ambassador had defected, reports The Jerusalem Post.
