Rohingyas intruding randomly in BD!

FROM TEKNAF: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Coast Guard Wednesday admitted that shelter craving Rohingyas are randomly intruding in Bangladesh territory.

A BGB source, wishing anonymity, said, “Rohingyas became able to enter here with the help of different agent through secret route although we pushed them back.”

BGB and Coastguard, in separate drives, held 114 Rohingyas as they tried to intrude Bangladesh crossing the common Naf River on early Wednesday and in the morning.

Some 75 Rohingya refugees were held from Shah Parir Deep of Teknaf at midnight on Wednesday and 39 others were held from Saint Martin at 8am.

BGB officer Major Saiful Wadud confirmed this to banglanews.

He said, “The Rohingyas were trying to intrude Bangladesh through the Naf River.”

UNO of Teknaf upazila said ANM Nazimuddin said, “We can’t always prevent intruding as there is no wire fence in this vast border and any how Rohingyas are entering here.”

BGB and upazila administration source said some 820 BGB men and 200 coast guards are usually deployed in 150 kilometer border with Myanmar and currently additional 120 BGB men and 100 coast guards were deployed.

Operation Officer of Teknaf-42 BGB Battalion H Kamrul Hasan told banglanews, “We are struggling to prevent intruding although deployed additional force as it is easier to enter here in many ways.”

Earlier in a few days, many people were killed in incidents of violence in western Myanmar, where police opened fire and the authorities declared a curfew to tackle the escalating unrest, officials said.  

Myanmar’s State television announced late Friday a night-time curfew in the unrest-hit areas, home to large numbers of Rohingya, a Muslim group described by the United Nations as one of the world’s most persecuted minorities.

The UN shifted its officials from the state of the country.
