DHAKA: State Minister for Energy and Power Mohammad Enamul Haque said the government has generated an additional 2,900 MW power in last three years.
He came up with the disclosure while speaking on the thanks-giving motion on the president`s speech at the National parliament building on Tuesday.
He said, “We are able to collect 3814MMcf (million cubic feet) of gas from gas fields across the country by 2013 while additional 2800 MMcf will be supplied to the national grid by 2015.”
Enamul said, “The present government has introduced the 3D Seismic survey equipment in order to make Bangladesh Petroleum Exploration and Production Company Ltd (Bapex) more upgraded. Bapex has already dig some new gas wells and managed to produce additional gas.”
“The government has taken initiative to increase the gas supply through importing LNG”, he added.
