SYLHET: Some ruling party men allegedly chopped local Chhatra Dal leader and Swechhasebok Dal activist at Subid Bazar in Sylhet city on Thursday night.
The injured Jamal Ahmed, a leader of Sylhet city Chhatra Dal and Mansur Ali Uzzal, a activist of Tilagar Swechhasebok Dal unit.
The injured were admitted to Osmani Medical College Hospital.
Swechhasebok Dal alleged that some people including Awami League man Shafiqur Rahman chopped Uzzal at about 08:45pm, leaving injured him critically.
Chhatra Dal sources said some supporters of Chhatra League’s Bidhan group chopped Jamal around 8:00pm, leaving him injured.
The process is underway to file case in the connection.
Ex- leader of Tilagar Chhatra League unit Babla told banglanews, “Uzzal was chopped over distributing money received from mugging.”
Shah Paran Thana OC Liakat Ali told banglanews, “It is yet to be identified whoever chopped Uzzal. With head and hand injuries, he was admitted to hospital.”
