DHAKA: Investors witnessed fall in the benchmark indices of country’s bourses on Tuesday.
The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) general index shed over 14 points to stand at 4,403 at the close on the day trading.
The volume of transactions, however, tumbled to Tk 1,407 million from Monday’s Tk 1,639 million. Trade deals stood at 49,556 against the previous day’s 63,947.
Of the issues traded, 90 advanced, 148 declined and 24 remained unchanged.
BSCCL topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 202 million having changed hands.
The other turnover leaders were LAFSURCEML, GP, LANKABAFIN, MPETROLEUM, GPHISPAT, BEXIMCO, SQURPHARMA, AFTABAUTO and TITASGAS.
Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 8,423 by dropping over 3 points.
Out of the issues traded, 60 gained, 89 declined and 29 remained unchanged.
On Monday, the benchmark indices at DSE and CSE also shed 87 and 178 points respectively.
