DHAKA: Newly appointed Railway Minister M Mujibul Haque Sunday categorically said no irregularity and corruption would be occurred in his ministry from now.
“I am not interested to say anything over previous corruptions but there will be no corruption from now. I will make new paradigm by working at the eleventh hour,” he said.
The ralway minister came up with the assertion while talking to journalists in his first press briefing as minister at Rail Bhaban in the city.
The lawmaker said, “No comment over past corruption, but I will not shelter any kind of corruption in my ministry from this moment.”
He added: “I will stop blacking ticket and ensure neat and clean train with accurate time schedule.”
On April 16, veteran Awami League leader Suranjit Sengupta took over as Railway Minister and resigned after 5 months on an allegation of bribery.
Later, Communications Minister Obaidul Quader was given the charge of the ministry on April 18.
On September 15 in a major reshuffle, whip Mujibul Haque was given the charge of Railway Ministry.
