DHAKA: Suranjit Sengupta, minister without portfolio commented that BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia should resign as opposition leader for failing to discharge her duty.
Suranjit asked BNP standing Committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed: “Tell your leader Khaleda Zia to resign as she also failed to discharge her duty.”
Khaleda joins the parliament only to save the post instead of discharging duty of opposition leader, he alleged.
He came up with the allegation Saturday while addressing a discussion held at Public Library auditorium in the city.
Suranjit Sengupta said, “In parliamentary democracy, Khaleda Zia is alternative prime minister.”
On Moudud’s claim for home ministers’ resignation, he added, “Let you resign because you also have many criticisms as BNP standing Committee member.”
The politicians aren’t the only patriotic, but there are some others patriotic people here, he added.
The discussion was also attended, among others, by DU VC AAMS Arefin Siddique, city AL joint general secretary Hazi Selim and organizing Secretary Shahe Alam Murad.
