DHAKA: ‘Mayar Madhuri’, a two-day classical music soiree by noted Indian classical music guru Pundit Arun Bhaduri will be held in Mymensingh and Dhaka.
The programme, jointly organised by Dhaka’s Bengal Foundation and Kolkata’s ITC Sangeet Research Academy, will begin at 7:00pm on July 13 at Shilpakala Academy auditorium in Mymensingh.
The programme, in Dhaka, will begin at 6:30pm on July 15 at the main auditorium of Bangladesh National Museum in Shahbagh.
It will feature a reception to the music guru by Bengal Foundation. The organisation chairman Abul Khair will decorate the guru with an uttariya while veteran cultural personality Kamal Lohani will handover an honorary crest.
Bengal Foundation director general Luva Nahid Chowdhury will deliver a welcome speech.
The programme will also feature a flute recital by Gazi Abdul Hakim and a classical music presentation by Sabina Momtaj Islam with Ashok Mukharjee on tabla and Jyoti Guha on harmonium.
Ratan Bharati will present classical music on slide-guitar with Ashok Mukharjee on tabla.
Lastly, the prime attraction of the soiree, Pundit Arun Bhaduri will perform at the programme with Sandip Roy Chowdhury on tabla and Jyoti Guha on harmonium.
