DHAKA: Ruling Aawmi League advisory council member Suranjit Sengupta MP said World Bank does politics as well as makes plots.
The former railways minister came up with the observation while addressing a meeting organized by Bangladesh Olama League held at Bangabandhu Avenue Tuesday.
The minister without portfolio alleged: “The World Bank is doing politics over Padma Bridge construction.”
He urged the prime minister to take initiative to construct the bridge with the help of the nation.
The ruling Awami League lawmaker said, “We can construct the bridge as we have done many tough tasks, including achievement of country’s liberation within nine months, triumph over sea boundary, trial of Bangabandhu murderers and war criminals and construction of mega bridges like Jamuna Bridge.”
With Olama League President Maulana Ilias Hossain Bin Helali in the chair, the programme was also addressed, among others, by Dhaka city AL general secretary Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya and publicity secretary Abdul Haque Subuj.
