FROM BARISAL: Opposition BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia Monday categorically said they would build two Padma Bridges if voted to power next.
“Awami League assumed power by giving so many election pledges. But, they have done nothing of those, rather done everything for themselves not for people,” she said.
The former prime minister came up with the assertion while addressing a mass rally at Bell Park in Barisal sadar on Monday afternoon.
Khaleda Zia said, “The work of Padma Bridge remained stopped for Awami League corruption.”
She also claimed her party had built many large bridges, including Jamuna Bridge. “We will construct two Padma Bridges if we assume power next,” she said.
The opposition leader also alleged that BNP does all kinds of development works while Awami League grabs the credit by changing the name plate only.
Khaleda added: “Awami League would never develop Bangladesh as there is to at loot public property.”
