Road crash kills woman in Gopalganj

GOPALGANJ: An elderly woman was killed as a passenger bus knocked her down on Dhaka-Khulna highway near Tilchhara bus stand in the district on Friday night.

The deceased was identified as Sarupjan Begum, 65, wife of Sona Mia, of Tutbari Village under the Sadar upazila.

Medical source said a passenger bus knocked her down at about 10pm while she was crossing the road, leaving her critically injured.

Later, she was rushed to Gopalganj Sadar Hospital where on-duty doctor declared her dead.
