MUNSHIGANJ: Police personnel held nine persons from Mawa Sea-boat Ghat for their alleged involvement in taking additional fair collection in Mawa-Kawrakandi river route of the district Saturday.
The detainees are Mintu, Iman, Faisal, Kawsa, Anwar, Shahjahan, Lalkhan, Rasel, and Hashem.
Mawa River Outpost Sub-Inspector Khandaker Khalid Hossain told banglanews: “Police held nine persons from the Ghat for their alleged involvement in additional fair collection around 8:00am.”
Persons concerning sea-boat owners, workers and lessees were collecting Tk 170 to Tk 200 instead of Tk 130.
A case was filed with the Lohajang Thana in this connection, he added.
