RAJSHAHI: At least eight members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) were injured in a collision between their patrol vehicle and a train in Baharampur new Bilsimla rail crossing area of the metropolis early Monday.
The injured are---- RAB-5 inspector Mizanur Rahman, Sub Inspectors Gaus, Toffael and Shumon, constables Maksud, Altaf, Abdul Kuddus and Alfaz.
Witnesses said a Chapainawabganj-bound local train collided with the RAB vehicle while it was crossing the rail track in Baharampur new Bilsimla area around 1:30am, injuring eight people.
Later, locals rescued the RAB personnel and rushed them to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital’s emergency unit.
The condition of Maksud and Altaf is critical, said hospital sources.
Meanwhile, high officials of RAB visited the hospital.
RAB-5 Media Cell Officer-in charge assistant police super Jubayer told banglanews, “It is not possible to make any comment right now. Details will be disclosed later regarding the matter.”
