DHAKA: Food and Disaster Management Minister Dr M Abdur Razzak Tuesday said Bangladesh is keen to export medicines to Vietnam.
The food minister made the proposal to Vietnamese envoy to Dhaka Nguyen Van That when he called on the minister at his office in the city.
Dr Razzak told the ambassador that Bangladesh was able to control its food market last year as Vietnam supplied rice.
The Awami League lawmaker also said there are many opportunities to expand the relation between two countries, which include importing medicine from Bangladesh, Vietnamese investment to Bangladesh, especially in leather sector.
The Vietnamese ambassador hoped that the friendly relation between two countries would be strengthened in future.
This year, Vietnam has produced rice. “We export rice to many countries, including China, Indonesia and Philippines,” the diplomat said.
