Khaleda-Tariqul meeting held

DHAKA: An hour-long meeting between BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and its standing committee member Tariqul Islam was held on Saturday midnight.

The meeting was started at 11:30 pm and ended at 12:30am at Khaleda’s Gulshan political office.

Earlier at the night, a meeting was held between Khaleda Zia and party’s standing committee members at her Gulshan office to discuss the latest political development.

Khaleda held personal meeting with Tariqul Islam to take final decision about the next programme, party sources said.

After sending BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir to jail, Khaleda assigned Tariqul to look after party’s organizing activities and make the June 11 mass rally a success, sources added.
