DHAKA: Industries Minister Dilip Barua categorically said his ministry would provide all sorts of cooperation to control the quality of products.
The minister came up with the statement while addressing a seminar held at Dhaka Chambers of Commerce and Industries (DCCI) auditorium in the city on Saturday.
Bangladesh Accreditation Board (BAB) and DCCI jointly organized the seminar to mark the World Accreditation Day-2012.
The slogan for this year observation was ‘Accreditation: Supporting Safe Food and Clean Drinking Water’.
Dilip Barua said, “Our businessmen spend millions of dollar to foreign agencies to diagnose whether our products are world class or not. But right now it is possible in our country and they can market their product after diagnosing it here in Bangladesh.”
We have installed some machinery to identify the quality of products in BSTI, he added.
Amongst others DCCI president Asif Ibrahim, additional secretary ABM Khorshed Alam, BAB president advocate Moeenuddin Miajee, director general Md Abu Abdul Haque and others were present in the seminar.
