DHAKA: Bangladesh Bank (BB) Governor Dr Atiur Rahman left for Japan on Sunday night to join annual general meetings of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF).
AFM Asaduzzaman, Managing Director of BB Governor Secretariat, told banglanews, “He left Dhaka for Tokyo in a Singapore Airlines flight around 11:30pm.”
He said, “Dr Atiur will attend regular meetings and bilateral talks with the representatives of the two international money lenders during his Japan tour till October 14.”
Besides, he will hold talks with the representatives of International Finance Corporation. He will also attend a conference of central bank governors of Commonwealth countries, he added.
He is likely to return home on October 16.
