Section 144 imposed in Bagerhat

BAGERHAT: Local administration imposed section 144 in Chitalmari Upazila of the district as ruling Awami League and BNP have convened meeting at same place and same time.

On behalf of upazila administration, UNO Md Tabibur Rahman imposed section 144 in Shampara Registered Primary School ground Wednesday from 7am to 6pm.

Sources said Chitalmari Upazila AL president Mohan Ali Biswash called an activists’ meeting ahead of Upazila Awami League council at Shampara Registered Primary School ground at 10am.

On the other hand, upazila BNP general secretary Mominul Haque Tulu convened an activists’ conference as part of central programme at the same time and same venue.

Chitalmari Thana OC Hasan Hafizur Rahman told banglanews, “The law-and-order situation in the area in under control.”
