23 shops gutted in Bhola

BHOLA: Some 23 shops were gutted in the Ilisha Jangshan bazaar area under Sadar upazila in the district early Thursday.

Bhola Fire Service and Civil Defence Station officer Shahbuddin told banglanews, “The fire originated from an electric short circuit at a shop in the bazaar around 12:30am and soon spread to adjacent shops.

On information, two fire fighting units rushed in and doused the flame with help of local businessmen after a two-hour effort.

Affected businessmen claimed that the extent of loss could go up at Tk 1 crore.
