Butterfly Research Park launched in Gazipur

GAZIPUR: Environment and Forests Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud inaugurated the Butterfly Research Park in the National Park of the district on Friday afternoon.

In this regard, a discussion meeting was also organized at the National Park in the afternoon where Forests Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud was present as chief guest.

Among others, Dhaka University Vice Chancellor AAMS Arefin Siddique and Butterfly Research Park’s Chief Researcher Prof Dr M A Basar were present as special guests in the programme.

The government allocated 10 hectares of land inside the National Park for the park.

Forest Department and University of Dhaka will jointly conduct the research for a period of 10 years under the leadership of Dr M A Basar.
