RANGPUR: Some 5000 leaders and activists of Jatiya Party, Rangpur resigned Sunday in protest against party support to Mosiur Rahman Ranga to contest Rangpur City Corporation polls.
Joint convener of JP Rangpur, also ex-mayor Abdur Rauf Manik confirmed the matter to banglanews.
Earlier on November 6, Manik at a press conference threatened to quit the party en-masse if nomination of Ranga was not withdrawn by Saturday.
