SATKHIRA: Tiger killed a fisherman in Katakhali area in Mamund river of the Sundarbans Thursday morning.
The deceased was identified as Abdus Sattar, 46, Bholakhali village of Shyampur upazila adjacent to the Sundarbans.
Assistant Conservator of Forests (ACF) Tawfiqul Islam told banglanews, “A tiger attacked Sattar while he along with some other fishermen was catching fish in Mamund River around 6:30am, leaving him injured critically.”
Fellow fishermen rescued him, but he died on the way to Shyamnagar Upazila Heath Complex around 10:30am.
