BNP for solution thru discussion

DHAKA: Forewarning the government, opposition BNP standing committee member MK Anwar MP said Awami League is talking for war but BNP doesn’t want war rather wants a solution through discussion.

“You will become isolated if you want war and would never find countrymen beside you and the people will win,” he said.

The senior leader of the party came up with the statement while addressing a human chain organized by the Zia Brigade in front of the National Press Club Wednesday.

He said, “Awami League never believed in democracy and have roamed around in the streets for 21 years but the people didn’t cast vote for them.”

“Sheikh Hasina only assumed power after taking up Hijab and crying,” he claimed.

Mentioning that the sufferings of people regarding the price hike and power crisis, he said, “The prime minster claims that people are having four meals which are only for her party member.”

Criticizing the proposed budget, he said, “This budget will not be good for the public because the poor will become poorer as it talks about what 2021 would be like and not the next fiscal year.”

Minister said, “World Bank stopped Padma Bridge funding because of the government’s corruption and the matter is not put to justice because their ministers are engaged with it.”

Besides, he also demanded to interrogate ATN Bangla Chairman Dr Mahfuzur Rahman for his “derogatory” remarks over journalist couple Sagar-Runi murder.

He said, “The government has not only murdered Sagar-Runi, they have murdered 17 journalists because they don’t believe in election and that is the reason why this murders are not being put on trial.”

Demanding release of the leaders arrested from jail gate Anwar said, “Release them immediately, otherwise you will be forced to release them after mass upsurge.”

He also urged the government to come in the line of the people and restore caretaker government system.

Dhaka City BNP member secretary Abdus Salam, BNP leader Major (retd) Hanif, Rashed Sikdar, Tejgaon Thana BNP organizing secretary Hafizur Rahman Kabir were among others present at human chain demo.
