CHITTAGONG: A 26-year-old man was killed as some unidentified miscreants knocked him down from a running train in Sitakundo upazila of the district Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Ujjal, hailed from Netrokona district.
Police source said Ujjal along with his other family members were going to Bhoirab. He was traveling on the train roof keeping his wife and daughter in the compartment as he had lacking of money.
At around 1:30am, some unidentified miscreants knocked him down from there, leaving him injured critically.
He was rushed to Sitakundo Upazila Health Complex, police source added.
Doctor of the health complex Bibekananda Chakraborty told banglanews that Ujjal said nothing but he was pushed down from the train.
He was transferred to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) as his condition deteriorated, he added.
Confirming the matter, Officer-in-Charge of Sitakundo Thana Samiul Islam said, “Ujjal succumbed to his injuries at CMCH on Saturday noon.”
