DHAKA: Prime Minister`s Energy Adviser Dr Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury said some gas-based power plants with 1300MW of production capacity would go for operation within the next year.
Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury came up with the disclosure after a meeting on ensuring fuel supply to power plants held at the secretariat on Tuesday.
A taskforce was formed, headed by power and energy ministry’s additional secretary Abu Taher to ensure fuel supply to power plants, he added.
Among others, state minister for energy and power Enamul Haque, power secretary, Petrobangla chairman were present in the meeting with Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury in the chair.
