HABIGANJ: At least 30 people were injured in a clash between two groups of villagers over establishing supremacy at Ujanpara village under Ajmiriganj upazila of the district Monday.
Police held Mofiz Mia in this connection.
The injured were admitted to Habiganj Sadar Hospital, Ajmiriganj Upazila Health Complex and Baniachang Upazila Health Complex.
Local sources said supporters of Dr Lokman and Ismail Hossain locked into a two-hour long clash with lethal weapons around 8:30am in the area following previous enmity, leaving 30 people injured from both sides.
On information, Ajmiriganj Thana police rushed in and took the situation under control.
Officer-in-Charge Ajmirigagj Thana Taimur Alam Chowdhury told banglanews that police forces were deployed in the area to avert further untoward situation.
