DHAKA: Finance Minister AMA Muhith categorically said the government is going to formulate a new economic formation to construct much-talked-about Padma Bridge.
The finance minister came up with the disclosure to the journalists at his secretariat office in the city Monday.
AMA Muhith said, “We should not make bad relation with the World Bank as it the largest development partner of the country and some 41 WB funded projects are underway.”
The ruling Awami League lawmaker also said the bridge would be constructed with own and foreign funding partly and letters were sent to the donor agencies.
Earlier in the day, he advised the authorities concerned not to involve in “unnecessary conflict” with the World Bank (WB) as it is the largest development partner of the country.
“The WB is one of the largest development partners of the country and we should not create unnecessary problem with it,” he said.
