Sahara’s ‘no’ to stop RAB

COMILLA: Home Minister Sahara Khatun Saturday ruled out the possibility of stopping Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) operations on the basis of Human Rights Watch report.

“HRW has no right to request any country to stop its special forces,” she added.

The minister came up with the assertion while inaugurating the new building of Comilla Sadar South Model Thana Saturday.

Sahara Khatun said, “RAB is playing a vital role in maintaining law and order situation of the country and it has much reputation.”

The interior minister said that she knew nothing about Limon and Abdul Kader torture while questioned.

Over extra-judicial killings, she added, “There is no extra-judicial killing in the country.”

The programme was addressed, among others, by Police Super Mokhlesur Rahman, Whip Mujibul Haq Mujib, BCB president AHM Mostofa Kamal and district administrator Rezaul Ahsan.
