DHAKA: Opposition BNP Standing Committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed Friday said the party would enforce tougher anti-government movement after Eid-ul-Fitr. Even, it may enforce non-stop hartal.

“Through the movement, the government would be forced to restore caretaker government system by amending the constitution,” he said.

The BNP lawmaker came up with the assertion while addressing a discussion at National Press Club organized by Constitutional Rights Forum at about 12pm.

Urging the government to restore CG system, Moudud said, “The people of the country will not accept the election under partisan government. BNP would compel to enforce non-stop programmes after Eid for restoration of CG system and stop torture, repression, loot and corruption.”

Holding polls through keeping parliament alive is unconstitutional. The fear which refraining you from the caretaker government, more bad situation would be created, Moudud forewarned the government.

With Syed Margub Morshed in the chair, the discussion was also addressed by BNP central leaders Ismail Hossain Bengal, Abdul Gafur Bhuiyan, Constitutional Rights Forum GS Surangon Ghos.

Moudud also expressed his deep shock at the death of eminent writer, dramatist and filmmaker Humayun Ahmed.
