DHAKA: Opposition BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir alleged that the incumbent government has made 16 crore people captive to save few persons involved in Padma Bridge corruption.
He came up with the allegation to the journalists emerging from the birthday party of noted journalist Gias Kamal Chowdhury at his residence in city’s Dhanmondi area Saturday.
Mirza Fakhrul said, “Not only in Padma Bridge, the Awami League government syndicate has spread corruption in every sector, but it is blaming the World Bank in stead of taking action against those corrupts.”
The corruption of the government became clear through the contradictory speeches of its ministers, he added.
He urged the government to talk with WB again after taking action against the persons involved in Padma Bridge corruption.
The opposition spokesman again said, “The human rights is being violated severely and the people have become lost.”
Journalist Gias Kamal Chowdhury fights against imperialism and predominance along with the politicians.
