DHAKA: Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Barrister Shafique Ahmed warned that punitive action would be taken against all who would violate law.
The law minister came up with the forewarning while addressing the closing ceremony of Survivors’ Convention-2012 at BRAC Center Inn at Mohakhali area in the city.
He said, “The government has formulated law to prevent human trafficking and three ministries are determined for ensuring enforcement of the law.”
The senior lawyer of the Supreme Court said, “We will take punitive action if any authorities concerned ignored to help the victim.”
He also warned against unnecessary time waste during case procedure.
The programme was addressed, among others, by Social Welfare ministry secretary Ranjit Kumar Biswas and Advocate Tarana Halim.
