HC summons 4 Biman officials

DHAKA: The High Court Monday summoned four high officials, including acting managing director of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, to appear before the court on July 22.

The officials are Biman acting Managing Director Mosaddik Ahmed, Director (Administration) Rajpoti Sarkar, Director (Sales & Distribution) M Shahnewaz and Manager (Law) Ajra Nasrin Rahman.

The court also issued a rule upon them to explain within ten days why “contempt-of-court” charge should not be brought against them.

An HC bench comprising Justice Farah Mahbub and Justice Abdur Rob passed the order.

The rule statement reads that Biman authorities did not follow the court order in appointing some 608 Biman officials.
