United Air to procure 4 Jetstream aircrafts

DHAKA: United Airways (BD) Ltd will procure four Jetstream aircrafts by September 2012 for services mainly to less used airports.
 
Three of the four Jetstream aircraft will be 18- seater each and be used for scheduled services to smaller airports like Barisal, Thakurgaon, Lalmonirhat, Ishurdi, Shamshernagar, Comilla and Bagerhat.

The fourth one will be 10-seater and be used for flying corporate executives between Dhaka and Chittagong and for exclusive charter service.
 
As per United Air website, Jetstream is a small twin-turboprop airline. Jetstream manufactured by British aerospace. Jetstream aircraft is safe, convenient and cost effective charter solutions to the corporate and leisure markets.

United Airways started its operation July 10, 2007 with 37 seated Dash 8-100. Now it has two Dash 8-100, three MD-83, two ATR-72 and two Airbus-310 aircraft.
 
United Airways, the first ever public limited company in aviation sector of Bangladesh, is now operating more international routes from Dhaka to Jeddah, Dubai, Muscat, Kuala Lumpur, Kathmandu and Kolkata. And it also operates from Chittagong to Muscat. United will restart flying on Chittagong-Kolkata from 18 June 2012. The airline is operating flights to all major domestic sectors from Dhaka.
