DHAKA: Opposition BNP Standing Committee Member Barrister Moudud Ahmed Thursday said the railway minister was caught as the mastermind of corruption for Tk 70 lakh.
The senior BNP leader made the assertion at a discussion on ‘present political context’ at the National Press Club organized by Bangladesh Nagorik Forum.
He said, “We were also ministers. But, no government officers went our residents in midnight.”
Railway minister’s APS was carrying money, which proved that they were going the minister’s house to reach the bribe money, he added.
The former law minister said it is proved that the ministers and MPs are engaged in corruption after being caught in red hand.
The BNP leader also urged Railway Minister Suranjit Sengupta to resign over ongoing money scandal.
With president of Bangladesh Nagorik Forum Anwar Hossain in the chair, the discussion was also addressed, among others, by former president of Supreme Court Bar Association Khandaker Mahbub Hossain, former secretary Barrister Badruddoza Badol, former president of Dhaka District Bar Association Advocate Sanaullah Mia and former member secretary Abdus Salam.
