DHAKA: Ruling Awami League general secretary Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya Saturday said Khaleda is lingering abroad leaving the turf of politics to protect war criminals.
He also reiterated that the trial of crimes committed during liberation war in 1971 must be held.
The leader of the ruling party came up with the assertion while addressing a discussion meeting held at the National Press Club.
The discussion meeting on ‘protest over BNP’s demand for the release of war criminals’ was organized by Bangabandhu Smriti Parishad.
He alleged that BNP pretends about liberty and democracy but they forget it when they assume power. “The nation will elect them, who will work for the country,” he claimed.
Mentioning that AL does not care any ultimatum, he said the next election would be held under this government.
The Parishad president Niaz M Khan in the chair, the discussion meeting was also addressed, among others, AL Dhaka City publicity and publications secretary Abdul Haque Sabuj and Janata Bank Board of Directors member Balram Poddar.
