DHAKA: Dhaka University authority Tuesday suspended four student politicos for temporarily from their academic career for their involvement in recent BCL factional clash.
A two-member committee was formed to investigate ino the incident. The two members are Assistant Proctor Md. Rabiul Islam and Dr. Md, Masudur Rahman.
Acting proctor of the varsity Dr. Amzad Ali confirmed it to banglanews on Tuesday night.
The suspended students are Saikat of Management Department, Taz of Law Department, Shariful Islam of Political Science and Mehedi of Bangabandhu hall.
All of them are members of Bangladesh Chhatra League, the student associate of the ruling party, campus sources told banglanews.
Earlier on Thursday, one activist of Bangladesh Chhatra League’s Dhaka University unit was injured in clashes between two groups of the party.
The injured was identified as by Abdus Salam Shyamal, a student of 2 nd year student of International Relationship Department.
Supporters of Sharif group of Jahrul Haque Hall BCL unit hacked Shyamal indiscriminately, leaving him injured critically.
He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, later he was sent to Pangu Hospital.
Sources said a supporter of Sharif group was chopped by BCL activists of Jasim Uddin hall in front of Arts Faculty on Thursday afternoon, leaving him injured seriously.
