DHAKA: Opposition BNP standing committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed MP Tuesday said the speaker is trying to keep balance between government and judiciary.

“The remark of a justice over the parliament is anti-constitutional and the chief justice has to take such a decision regarding the matter so that it is not repeated in the future,” he said.

The senior lawyer came up with the observation while addressing a roundtable discussion organized by Bangladesh Youth Forum held at the National Press Club.

The senior lawyer of the Supreme Court said, “The suspect that created regarding the judiciary has to be removed.”

He said, “Be it called non-party interim or caretaker government, the next national election will have to be held under the neutral government.”

The BNP leader said, “If Awami League opposes it, they will not be saved from the mass agitation. So, AL has to fulfill the demand first.”

BNP International Affairs Secretary Nazimuddin Ahmed, Jamaat leader Hamidur Rahman Azad and Jatiya Ganatantrik Party (JAGPA) President Shafiul Alam Prodhan also spoke.
