KUSHTIA: The authorities of the Islamic University Sunday suspended its admission tests for first-year honours for “unavoidable circumstances”.
The admission test for the session 2012-2013 was scheduled to be held on November 17.
Registrar of the university Dr M Moslem Uddin confirmed the matter to banglanews.
He said, “It is difficult to hold the admission in schedule as teachers have declared not to take part in the process of the admission test.”
A total of 88,320 students applied to appear in the admission test under 22 departments in this session.
The teachers under the banner of Islamic University Teachers Association (IUTA) on Sunday announced a series of agitation programme on the regard.
The programme includes forming human chain, press conference, rally and sit-in programme at the VC office.
Professor Dr ASM Toriqul Islam announced the programme in IUTA office.
The teachers were refraining from attending classes for the second conductive day on Sunday.
The university was resumed on Saturday after a 28-day vacation on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha and Durga Puja.
