KHULNA: Bangladesh Bank (BB) governor Dr Atiur Rahman urged the bank officials to be more responsible in preventing fraudulent activities in financial sector.
The central bank governor came up with the plea while addressing a regional town hall meeting titled ‘Financial Integrity: Managing Operational Risks and Avoiding Serious Losses at the Branch Level’ at Hotel City Inn in Khulna.
Dr Atiur Rahman said, “Institutional good governance and internal control process should be more strengthened in order to minimize the process and operational risk.”
He also emphasized on increasing supervision work of Bangladesh Bank.
With General Manager of the Khulna Branch of Bangladesh Bank Shyamol Kumar Das in the chair, the meeting was also addressed, among others by Deputy Governors Abu Hena M Razi Hasan and SK Sur Chowdhury and Senior Consultant M Allah Malik Kazmi.
