DHAKA: Malaysian food and culture festival has started in city marking 40th anniversary of diplomatic relationship between Bangladesh and Malaysia.
Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel and Malaysian High Commission in Bangladesh jointly organised the week-long ceremony, which was inaugurated by Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Faruq Khan on Wednesday evening.
A cultural programme was also held after the inaugural ceremony, where Malay, China, Indian and Folk dancers performed their respective dance pieces.
In addition, three Malaysian artists introduced their arts in the programme.
Three renowned chefs of Malaysia Norjamin Bin Raja Mohammad, Abul Haris Bin Jahia and Khor Ben Sin are now staying at Dhaka on the occasion of food festival.
Among others, Malaysian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Dato Jamaluddin Sabeh, General Manager of Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel EJ Macewan, Team’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Kazi Wahidul Alam and Sonargaon Hotel Assistant Director Mohammad Oliullah were present in the programme.
On the other hand, a three-day long ‘Robi Expo Malaysia’ is also going to be held at the Hotel from Thursday marking 40th anniversary of diplomatic relationship between the two countries.
