Union Tours appointed GSA of MAS in Bangladesh

DHAKA: Union Tours & Travels, a concern of Union Group was appointed as the General Sales Agent (passenger) of Malaysian Airlines (MAS) in Bangladesh.

Union Tours will now carry out specific functions of sales and marketing, reservation and ticketing on behalf of MAS, said Rana Shafiulla, chairman of Union Group to banglanews24.com on Thursday.

With three-year General Sales Agency (GSA) agreement, signed on June 20, between MAS and Union Tours & Travels Ltd shall take effect from August 1, 2012 and continue till July 31, 2015.

Dr Hugh Noel Dunleavy, Head of Commercial, MAS and Raquibul Kabir, Managing Director of Union Tours & Travels Ltd signed the accord on behalf of their respective organizations.

Union Tours & Travels will set office to a standard of Malaysian Airlines to commence the operation in Bangladesh, said Union Group chairman.

"As the GSA in Bangladesh, we shall ensure a better service to the travelers to Malaysia and beyond boarding MAS," he added.
