Group print show at Bengal Art Lounge

DHAKA: Twenty five artists will take part in a 15-day printmaking exhibition at Gulshan’s Bengal Art Lounge from June 21.

The show titled ‘1/25’ will be inaugurated by Brazil’s charge d’ affairs to Bangladesh and also a member of the Curatorial Board of the Museum of Sao Paolo, Fausto Godoy at 7:00pm on the day.

Director of the Safiuddin Bengal Printmaking Studio professor Mahmudul Haque will also speak at the inaugural ceremony.

A total of 30 prints, made at the Safiuddin Bengal Printmaking Studio, will be on display.

The show will feature the works of the artists including Qayyum Chowdhury, Rafiqun Nabi, Monirul Islam, Shuvaprasanna, Shahid Kabir, Ranjit Das and Anisuzzaman.

According to the organisers, the exhibition will be a tribute to Bangladesh’s one of the major artists and also a pioneer of the printmaking tradition in the country late Safiuddin Ahmed.

It will remain open from 12:00pm to 8:00pm till July 7.
