DHAKA: The Election Commission (EC) secretariat is ready to receive the new election commissioners and give farewell to the outgoing election commissioners.
EC secretary Dr Mohammad Sadik came up with the assertion while talking to banglanews Wednesday.
He said, “We are fully prepared to receive the new ECs with flowers. We also want to give farewell to the outgoing ECs with due respect.”
The secretary of the election commission also informed that the secretariat kept prepared all files, rules and regulations and rooms for the new ECs.
As per the new rules, the EC will be formed comprising maximum five ECs, including the chief election commissioner.
Two more rooms were constructed in the Western block of the EC secretariat as it had only three rooms for the ECs.
The tenure of Chief Election Commissioner ATM Shamsul Huda and Mohammad Sohul Hossain will be over on February 5 while Sakhawat Hossain’s on February 15.
The outgoing CEC will hold a view exchange meeting with the journalists on Thursday to brief their five years success and failure.
Besides, the EC secretariat will organize a programme at NEC auditorium on February 4 to give farewell to the outgoing ECs.
