Journo killed in Jessore

JESSORE: A local journalist was killed by unidentified miscreants in Kashipur Bazar area under Sharsha upazila of the district.

The deceased was identified as Jamal Uddin, 35, Kashipur Correspondent of daily Gramer Kagaj published from Jessore and son of Abdul Alamgir of the village.

Local journalist Aminur Rahman said, “Unidentified miscreants chopped him to death while he was sitting in a tea shop in Kashipur Bazar area at around 11:00pm.”

Locals rushed him to Barujbagan Health Complex where on duty doctor Shahid Anwar declared him dead.

Sharsha Thana OC AKM Faruk Hossain confirmed the incident.

Earlier on February 11, unidentified miscreants stabbed the journalist couple Sagar-Runi to death at their West Rajabazar residence in the city on February 11.

Sagar Sarwar was news editor of Maasranga Television, and his wife Meherun Runi was senior reporter of ATN Bangla.
