PATGRAM (LALMONIRHAT): A newly married woman was killed as a truck ran over a motorbike in Sadhur Bazar area under Hatibandha upazila in the district on Sunday evening.
The deceased was identified as Dina, 18, wife of Lebu Mia, of East Sardubi area in the upazila.
Locals said they just got married on Friday.
Witnesses said a speedy driven truck ran over the motorbike carrying the newly married couple while they were returning home after visiting the Teesta Barrage, leaving Dina dead on the spot and Lebu critically injured.”
Injured Lebu is undergoing treatment at Rangpur Medical College Hospital.
Confirming the matter, Hatibandha thana OC Tapas Sarker said, “An unnatural death case was filed in this regard.”
