BHOLA: Misery for commuter increased in the district as the Bhola-Lakshmipur ferry gangway is inundated by high tide and one ferry out of three becomes malfunctioned at Ilisha-Mojuchowdhury Hat route.
Passengers, workers and the businessmen at the ghat claimed to banglanews24.com that the authorities concerned paid little attention to their repeated complains about the situation as it is one of the key routes for Bhola with 21 southwest districts.
Regarding the matter, the ferry authorities said, a ferry named ‘Karabi’ was malfunctioned on May 15.
Besides, the tidal water of Meghna engulfed the Ilisha Ferry Ghat which led to a cut for smaller vehicle movement.
Passengers and worker were waiting for hours at the gaht as the ferry communication followed the tidal schedule.
Admitting the matter to banglanews24.com, assistant in-charge of ferry ghat Md Shihab Uddin said the higher authorities showed little response though they informed them the situation.
